Get Your Hands In The Air

A 2 track underground rap/hip-hop single (7m 48s) — released October 3rd 2005 on LEISURE RECORDINGS

With the likes of Quantic, Blackbeard, The Unabombers and The Nextmen already showing strong support, the Leisure Recordings crew is riding a funky-assed wave all the way to the beach with their latest release from in-house production duo The Leisure Allstars. After taking on remix duties on the well received Mr Benn EP earlier this year, the Allstars take centre stage for this charleston hip-hop adventure to Jamaica. An infectious mid-tempo banger, this has had dancefloors across the land spontaneously reinventing themselves for the past few months on very limited CDR, but now makes its way to wax for the first time. On the flip, fellow Bristolian -- and Radio 1 remix competition runner up - Steve Markovits gives it a digi-hop retouch, complete with DJ Cam-style synths and filtered disco. The Bristol-based Allstars consist of DJs and producers Ali 'Plan B' Betty and Rory 'Rory Kinsella' Kinsella who've been plying their trade for the past few years DJing alongside the likes of Jazzy Jeff, Daddy G, The Herbaliser 'to name a few- and who have recently garnered worldwide recognition courtesy of guest DJ slots on Ninja Tune's highly respected Solid Steel radio show. Already working with a range of quality established singers and musicians, the Leisure Allstars album is already well under way and is sure not to disappoint. Leisure's debut 12' was hammered by Joe Ransom at FabricLive and also featured on the exclusive Winter '04 mix CD, Not the Nextmen. After another couple of 12's to bring in the autumn, look out for the first Leisure Recordings label compilation before the end of the year.'

?This cheeky piece of reggae inspired, sample heavy business finally gets to see the light of day. The original will probably get most bodies on the tiles with its Scruff-inspired Charleston sampling antics? - DJ

...a masterpiece in sample-based dancefloor mayhem pulling together dope break beats, double basses, 1930's horn sections and vocals straight outta Kingston on the hottest cut of the moment. - Blowback Magazine
