'Friday Night' is the brand new release from Bristol's Leisure Allstars, a ruff an' tuff, bassbin-worrying, rootical rave horn-blowing roller coaster ride around massive hip-hop beats, deep and deadly sub-bass and sweet reggae soul, voiced by the UK's number one Dancehall queen, Lady Chann. The original fuses raw and heavy head-nodding beats with live guitars and layers of dubbed-out skanking FX, setting the scene for Chann's weekend-related wordplay. The London MC has been deep in the studio this year with some of the UK's hottest producers, working on tracks for her debut album, including the Sticky-produced, Toddla T & Seiji-remixed smash 'Sticky Situation', so we're predicting her firing vocal performance on the Allstars' beat will pick up some major props from discerning DJs and party-makers worldwide. Next up, new recruits to the Leisure camp Professor Dodecahedron & Lord Grigio step up to turn in a truly heavyweight dance floor destroyer, toughening up the bashment beats, dubbing out the guitars and welding an enormous digital bassline to it. This unlikely pairing of veteran New York hiphop legend, and ageing, reclusive Italian super-producer is most definitely a bizarre but winning combination we hope to hear from again. Mr Benn has consistently produced exceptional remixes for Leisure Recordings, crafted with one eye on authenticity and one on the future, and once again he does not disappoint. His 'Saturday Morning Retox' version is full of feel-good summer ska vibes, perfect for any good-times scenario. Watch out for his forthcoming album featuring Blak Twang, Serocee, and The Ragga Twins, amongst several other top class vocalists. Part 2 of this release will comprise of 3 more versions, remixed by the Allstars themselves, Tom Central from London's forward-thinking Keep Up! label, and everyone's favourite lords of the dance, Nice Up! The Leisure Allstars have previously been featured on compilations by Nightmares on Wax's DJ Ease, Azuli, and respected German label Unique as well as picking up strong continued radio support from Ninja Tune's Solid Steel and 6 Music's Craig Charles. Their track 'How We Roll' went straight in to the number one slot in the Juno.com hiphop download chart, and last year the track '35 Summers' featured on the Big Chill '15 x 15' compilation series. Forthcoming productions will feature vocalists Yolanda and Sarah Scott, and their remix of Mr Benn Ft. The Ragga Twins – 'Without A Trace' is out soon.
